One number rules a bike out. Here is how to get it right.
Move the slider if you know your height. Read the three steps if you are about to type it from memory — that is the reason most bikes go back.

M1 ARETE165–193 cmEdge of its range

Measure it, do not remember it.
A height typed from memory is the single most common reason a bike goes back. Both numbers take a book and a pencil.
Height is the number everybody knows, and it is enough to rule a frame out. Inside leg is the number that chooses between two frames that both fit — so it is asked second, and only when it matters.
Nothing you type here is sent anywhere. It is kept in this browser so the shop can answer with it, and clearing your browser clears it.
Under, over, and exactly on the line.
Every shop has these three and most answer them one email at a time. They are printed here instead.
The K02 is the closest and you would be at or under its lower limit. We will not tell you it is fine from here — send your inside leg and we will say yes or no.
Both the K01 and the K02 fit, and the answer is not the number. It is whether you want to swing a leg over or step through.
The K03 has the longest reach in the line and it still runs out at 200. Above that, none of the three is right and we would rather say so.
Step through it, or swing a leg over it.
At the height where two bikes fit, this is what actually separates them — and it has nothing to do with who the bike is “for”.
| Step-through · K02 | High-thru · K01 | |
|---|---|---|
| Getting on | Step through the middle. Nothing to lift a leg over. | Swing a leg over the saddle, as on any bike. |
| Stack | 710 mm — more upright | 840 mm — more forward |
| Best if | You stop and start often, carry a child seat, or a hip or knee makes lifting a leg awkward | You ride longer, faster, or off the road |
| Not so good if | You want to get out of the saddle on a climb | You are getting on and off twenty times a day |
The catalogue calls one of these a women’s frame and the other a men’s. That is the industry talking, not the geometry: pick the one you want to get onto twenty times a day.
Two ways out, and neither costs you.
We send the courier — you do not box a bike and drive it anywhere. It is the only honest answer to a bike nobody can sit on first, and we have no showroom to offer instead.
Height and inside leg, and what you ride to. One reply, from somebody who rides them — not a form that comes back with a link to this page.
